La Aripuca in Puerto Iguazú

A traditional attraction of the city that combines a large wooden structure, regional products and a clear message about the care of the Misiones jungle.

What is La Aripuca?

One of the best-known attractions in Puerto Iguazú , with a different proposal within the city.

La Aripuca opened its doors in the year 1998 with a clear objective: to raise awareness about the importance of natural resources and promote care for the environment.

It is a family-run agro-ecological and tourist enterprise that, over the years, became one of the most traditional attractions of Puerto Iguazú.

The protagonist of the place is its imposing structure: a construction more than 17 meters high and around 500.000 kilos in weight, made with 30 native species from the Misiones jungle rescued without damaging the environment.

The name “Aripuca” comes from the Guaraní people and refers to a handmade trap used to capture animals without harming them. This idea is redefined in the park as a message of conservation: what used to trap animals, today seeks to capture people's attention to reflect on the care of nature.
